Green Mountain Towns Tour, 17 August 2019, A Resounding Success

Upcoming Fall Tours/Social Functions

September 21, 2019 – Arlene and David are again hosting Green Mountain Region Members to a Potluck / BBQ at their house in Waitsfield, Vermont along with visits to David’s car restoration museum as part of the event. Val and Rick Swincowski will be helping with the cooking.  The cost, $5 per person, will cover the cost for meat and soft drinks; participants are asked to bring a dish to share.  More information will be coming soon on the GMR webpage and in the newsletter.

October 5, 2019 – The Green Mountain Region’s 2019 Fall Foliage Tour will take place on Saturday, October 5th.  As in past years Pete and Ellen Arnold will be leading the Tour and is sure to highlight the best of Vermont’s Foliage.  Be sure to save the date. The details and registration process are under development so be sure to check back for further information.

Holiday Party – Saturday, Dec. 7. The Board just set this date – save the date for the annual holiday party. We may change it this year from the Hotel Vermont in Burlington to something slightly south. Stay tuned!

Despite a threatening weather forecast predicting rain, high winds and hail 17 Porsche’s joined together to tour several Vermont towns. The weather turned out to be perfect with sun and clouds working together to make for a wonderful ride. The Tour had two starting locations (Pomfret and Waitsfield) and took us through Barnard, Rochester, Hancock, Warren, Buels Gore Vista, Huntington, Richmond, Jericho, Underhill, Cambridge, Jeffersonville, Smugglers Notch with a finish in Stowe. Kudos to Duffy Miller for pulling this successful outing together. See a few photos here.

Be sure to check out “Ask Jason” in Tech Talk

  1. When I step on the pedal from a dead stop in low gear, my ’99 Boxster is not taking off like it used to.  The last time I changed plugs was seven or eight years ago at 90,000 miles, now I have 122,000. Should I change plugs?
  2. How often should I get a wheel alignment?
  3. I am getting some oil drip on the garage floor under my 1971 911E. Is that a problem, what should I do?

Green Mountain Region member, Rob Wadsworth, had the pleasure of attending the recent 2019 Luftgekühlt in Los Angeles. He was good enough to share some of his photos, click here to check them out.
