Bullfrog Auto, specializing in Porsche repair, has relocated to its new location at 204 Boyer Circle in Williston. They are hosting an open house for all Porsche owners and enthusiasts on Saturday, October 1st, 10am – 1pm.  You will be able to discuss “all things Porsche” with Jason and Juan, and walk-through the new shop. Located on site and also participating in the event are Sun Stoppers and Washburn’s Auto Body. You can talk with the experts at Sun Stoppers about making your vehicle “sparkle, pop and easy to clean” via exterior detailing to include ceramic coating, paint protection film, and window tinting. If your vehicle requires more than exterior detailing, the experts at Washburn’s Auto Body can discuss anything from minor paint to collision repairs, as well as full body restoration.

And if the hunger pains strike MARK BBQ will be on site offering their amazing BBQ for sale. So be sure to bring your appetite! There will also be space you to open those hoods and let everyone see first-hand why your Porsche is special!

Immediately following the open house GMR will host a driving tour from Williston to Richmond. The route that membership chair, Brad Kennison, has assembled is guaranteed to stimulate the senses with Vermont’s foliage. If you plan to join the tour please click here to register.

After departing Bullfrog Auto, we will make a few jogs over to Dorset St. and then head south transitioning to Shelburne Falls Rd. At the stop light we will turn right on Rt 116 and continue south through Hinesburg and Starksboro. At the intersection of Rt 17 we will turn left and begin our climb to higher elevations which should bring about a noticeable change in foliage. At Gore Rd. we will turn left and head north along the western slope of Camels Hump. This portion of the drive will take us through Huntington with the tour ending at the historic Old Round Church in Richmond, Vt., built in 1812.

There are no planned stops on the tour which will last just over an hour. Upon reaching our destination if you are hungry or thirsty there are several establishments only minutes away which are listed here:

·      Stone Corral Brewery

·      Stone’s Throw Pizza

·      The Big Spruce – Mexican

·      Sweet Simon’s – Café, bakery

·      Hatchet – New American

·      Cumberland Farms – at the stop light

·      Exxon Mobile – at entrance to I-89

Access to I-89 heading north or south is approximately eight minutes away. Please Note – Do not use Rt 2 south due to road construction.

October 15, 2022

Join your fellow members for the Green Mountain Region’s Annual Meeting & Luncheon on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Sugarbush Resort in Warren. The meeting and luncheon will take place in the Castlerock Pub at the base of the mountain closest to the Super Bravo Quad chair lift.

The meeting will begin at 12.30pm with the lunch service beginning at 1.15pm. During the lunch service we will conduct a raffle with some neat prizes and remote-control racing. We have the Pub reserved from noon through 3.00pm so there should be plenty of time to conduct the official business and more importantly, plenty of time for socializing. Weather permitting, we will also have access to the Pub’s patio.

This year’s meeting is especially important because we will hold elections for the four officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary), approve the 2021 Annual Meeting Minutes and have a member Open Forum. If you would like to be a candidate for one of the offices drop a note expressing your interest to Lou Krieg at Lou@GMSW.com by October 8, 2022.

The cost for lunch is $40/person. The menu will include Montreal Grilled Chicken Breast (boneless breast of chicken with cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce and sliced tomato served on ciabatta bread brushed with chipotle mayo), Hummus Wrap (garlic hummus with baby spinach and roasted vegetables served in a flour tortilla wrap), Turkey Time (smoked turkey breast, Swiss cheese, crisp bacon with lettuce, tomato and cranberry mayo served on focaccia bread) accompanied mixed green and pasta salads, whole fruit, soft drinks and assorted fresh baked cookies.

Greater Burlington Area Tour

If you are interested in join a GMR driving tour to Sugarbush Resort a short tour is being organized and led by Lou Krieg & Ann Pettyjohn. Despite the title the tour is open to all GMR members. The gathering point will be at the Southbound I-89 Information Center (rest area) in Williston, just south of Exit 12. Among the villages the tour will pass through are Richmond, Hinesburg, Starksboro and Buell’s Gore, past Mad River Glen, Fayston and into Warren and the Sugarbush Resort. Driving time is estimated to be about 1 hour 15 minutes.
