August 26 – Covered bridges tour

Event Details

On Saturday, August 26, Arlene Diesenhouse and David Steinman will lead
a covered bridges tour and host BBQ , pot luck

Once again, Arlene and David are hosting a BBQ and pot luck at David’s historic house in Waitsfield. They will lead a tour of covered bridges and interesting roads. (See outline of tour below).

Plan is to meet at their house at 11 a.m. Time to schmooze and look over David’s fantastic restored car collection.

Note: David is a nationally known fine-auto restorer. Learn all about his work in this informative link supplied by Marco Lacasse.

We will have lunch around 12:30 and leave for the tour by 2 p.m. (Subject to fine tuning) Dave and Arlene are also working on a couple of interesting places to stop by.

After the tour, everyone is welcome to come back to the house for cocktails and snacks. Bring chairs and your favorite drinks. We’ll advise later on what pot luck items are needed.

GPS Address: 308 Butternut Dr., Waitsfield
Please RSVP to Arlene via email: diesen47@gmail.com

so they can know how many to plan for the BBQ.

Don’t forget – it’s a potluck so please plan bringing a side, dessert, etc!

Left onto rte 66 to rte 12. We take 12 to Northfield. We will pass Slaughterhouse bridge on our left. On to Northfield. At Cox Brook Rd we make a left and pass through three covered bridges. After the third one we turn around.

We can stop at the Falls General Store for refreshments. Then on to rte 12 S to rte 64 where we connect to rte 89. From there we can head north to return to David’s house for afternoon refreshments or head home. the choice is the driver’s.
