On behalf of the GMR Board I am pleased to share the details for the first GMR event of 2022 – a driving tour followed by lunch at the Cafe Próvence on Saturday, May 14. The tour will begin at the Sharon Trading Post [Maplefields] at 5038 Route 14 in Sharon and will end in Brandon. The route, originally planned by former GMR President Carl Wulfestieg, is a double gap drive that will take us on some familiar roads with a few twisty turns and beautiful scenery.
The Sharon Trading Post aka as Maplefields has parking with gas, food and beverages as well as restroom facilities. In Brandon, arrangements have been made for lunch at the Café Provence (https://cafeprovencevt.com) located at 11 Center Street.
We will begin gathering fin Sharon at 9.00am with the drivers meeting taking place at 9.30a.m. The tour will begin at 10.00am with an expected arrival in Brandon at shortly after 12.00p.m. IMPORTANT – COVID has limited the availability of locations with rest room facilities, as a result we may not be making a mid-way stop for this tour. The route is approximately 62 miles in length and we anticipate a ride duration of 2 hours, please plan accordingly. The following is an overview of the route.
As noted above, lunch is available at the Café Provence Restaurant at 11 Center Street in Brandon. The cost per person is $35.00 and includes your choice of entrée, soft drinks, taxes and gratuity. The entrée options are listed below. Please be sure to make your meal choices when completing the registration process. If you intend to participate only on the driving tour (no lunch) DO NOT make a meal selection.
PCA Liability Waiver Form
Consistent with prior practice, a fully executed PCA Liability Waiver Form is required in order to participate in the tour. Every tour participant [Registrant/driver and guest/passenger] must complete a PCA Liability Waiver form.
For Registrant/Driver – you will be asked if you want to complete the Speedwaiver as part of the registration, be sure you have entered your mobile phone number. After you complete the Motorsportreg process, a text message will be sent to your mobile phone with instructions on how to complete waiver process. Given the spotty nature of cell service in parts of Vermont we STRONGLY encourage you to do so before the day of the event.
For your Guest/Passenger – to complete the Speedwaiver please go to the following link on their mobile phone – https://pcagreenmountain.speedwaiver.com/mygjr and follow the directions.
Note, if you will have a minor (under age 18) in your vehicle the Minors liability waiver form must be completed on the day of the event at the gathering point. The tour leader will have the requisite form.
If you have any questions, please drop an email to gmrpca@gmail.com
